How much money will I earn?

The typical reimbursement for a Tier 1 home provider who cares for seven children, five days a week, is around $595 a month. A Tier 2 home would bring in around $286 a month for serving the same meals to the same children. The tier status is based on income and local school boundaries.

Is it worth my time?

Most providers say that they spend less than 30 minutes a day on food program records. If your reimbursement is $7140 a year, you earn $54.92 an hour for the time you spend on the food program paperwork! You already spend time planning meals, shopping and cooking whether or not you participate in the food program, so why not get paid extra for the things you already do?
